If you've ever wondered what our National Pastime was like before it was our National Pastime, you are invited to travel back to the 1860s and witness a baseball game as it was played in that time. Jonathan Farris promotes the Alton Giant, the area vintage baseball team. Farris says the team plays a regular schedule out at Rock Springs Park on select weekends.
You are invited to find the team on Facebook for a complete list of home dates.
If you head out to watch a game, Farris notes there are no balls and strikes called. He tells the Big Z of some other rule differences in the game.

Farris notes that the club annually raises money for Backstoppers. He invites you to attend a two-day vintage baseball tournament coming May 5 and 6 to Hartford.
