Reminding that “evidence such as Snapchats, do not entirely disappear in seconds,” Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons has announced charges against a former teacher at Triad High School. 39-year-old Erin M. Garwood is charged with Indecent Solicitation of a Child, Class 2 felony, and Grooming, Class 4 felony.
The charges were filed after she allegedly told the male student over Snapchat that she wanted to have sexual intercourse with him. The alleged crimes occurred between the time period of August 1, 2016 through October 31, 2018. Due to the age of the victim, additional information will not be released. Garwood’s bail has been set at $75,000. If convicted, she could face up to seven years in prison on the solicitation charge and up to three years in prison on the grooming charge.
