The ribbon cutting at Alton's new inclusive playground at Alton's Gordon Moore Park is scheduled for Monday morning. You are invited to the event at 9:30. Alton Parks and Recreation Director Michael Haynes tells The Big Z several people connected to this project will speak, including the playground manufacturer and a national advocate for inclusive play.

He says the project came together quickly, going from announcement to where we are today in less than a year. Fundraising has been a success, according to Haynes. Of the $2.2-million price tag, much of that has been covered with grants, sponsorships, and private donations. Right now, Haynes says there is about $200,000 left to raise.
