A Madison County judge has ruled in Godfrey's favor in the village's case against the Hiway House Motel. The court proceedings wrapped up over a week ago, and the judge's decision to allow the village to demolish the facility was announced this (Thursday) afternoon.
Godfrey Mayor Mike McCormick tells The Big Z the village will begin the process of seeking bids for the demolition.

The ruling gives the Singh family time to find another place to live. All residents at the motel must be out by 5pm Friday (today), and the village has reached out to those residents to offer help and options for relocation. It is not known if the Singh family will appeal the decision.
