Two recent vehicle thefts in Wood River are being blamed on the same man. 24-year-old Aaron S. Kelley of the 200 block of Main Street in Kane is charged in thefts from a driveway in the 500 block of 13th Street in Wood River on January 10, and from the Petro Mart gas station on East Ferguson Avenue late Sunday afternoon.
He went to jail for the first theft, after Alton Police located the vehicle on the Shop N Save parking lot the following day. Apparently not long after making bail, he is accused of committing the second theft. In both cases, Wood River Deputy Chief Dan Bunt tells The Big Z the vehicles were left running and unlocked.

The vehicle is still missing from the Petro Mart theft, and Kelley is not in custody. Police are looking for a white, 2001 Ford Expedition with Illinois plates Z530475. If you know where to find the vehicle or Kelley, you are asked to call Wood River Police at 251-3114.
