The Illinois Supreme Court was in action Wednesday, taking oral arguments outside of the traditional court room in Springfield and instead held proceedings in Godfrey. More than 800 people attended the event in the Ann Whitney Olin Theatre of the Hatheway Cultural Center at Lewis and Clark Community College.

The court says it’s a great way to showcase the court and legal proceedings to an audience that might not ever be able to attend.

They heard two case, one focused on being able to prohibit a person convicted of sexual abuse from using social media while on probation and the other was if a person can sue another to reclaim a lost bet through an illegal online sports book.
