The fourth annual Ride for Wishes for Make-A-Wish, IL was held last Saturday, and about 40 motorcycles and a few other vehicles participated this year. The event is a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish, IL, and this year's turnout and the amount of money raised smashed the old marks set last year and the year before.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted hundreds of wishes for kids in the area, made possible by funds raised through a number of events in the region. Event spokesman Mike Montgomery tells The Big Z they raised $18,000 last year, and at least $25,000 this year.

The nearly 70-mile ride began and ended at the Alton Moose Lodge where it was followed by a silent auction. The event's principal organizer and 20-year Make-A-Wish volunteer Norma Glazebrook says the event will return for a fifth time in 2018.
