Southwestern High School is holding a remote learning day today (Fri) due to a second positive COVID-19 test in the same classroom at the high school within a 14-day period.  The announcement was made last night just hours after news of a single case of COVID-19 at the high school was made public.

When initially reporting the first case, the school was going to remain open after consultation with the Macoupin County Health Department, however just an hour later the second case was reported, and the decision was made to switch to remote learning for Southwestern High School today. The statement says if you have a child that has been directly affected by this, you will receive a notification from the district and the Macoupin County Health Department.  All high school students are expected to treat today as a remote day of learning.  More information will be provided over the weekend through normal communication channels from the district.
