Helen Hickerson, age 84, of Alton, passed away 9:25 p.m. at Robings Manor in Brighton.
She was born March 29, 1933 to George and Bessie (Watson) Tolle of Godfrey, IL.
Helen married Guy Hickerson of Hardinsburg, KY on August 2, 1952 in Pocahontas, AR.
She is survived by one son, David (Karen) Hickerson of Dorsey; four grandchildren, Aaron (Kim) Hickerson, Ryan (Julie) Hickerson, Ben Hickerson, Laura (Chandler) Atkins; eight great grandchildren, Parker, Melaina, Kaidyn, Carter, and Bailey Hickerson, Landon, Abigail, and Everett Atkins; one sister, Shirley (Gene) Warner; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel R. Hickerson; two brothers, James and George Tolle and five sisters, Clara Beard, Mina Burns, Mary Polhman, Alma DeSherlia and Fern Depper.
Visitation will from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow after the funeral service.
Private inurnment will be held at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Godfrey Congregational Church in Godfrey, IL.
