George Jr

George L. Hawkins Jr., 67, died at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.  Born August 6, 1950 in West Alton, MO, he was the son of George and Myrtle (Roark) Hawkins Sr.  Mr. Hawkins was a retired union painter.  He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and watching them play.  He is survived by his two sons, Tim (Dawn) Hawkins of East Alton and Jeff Hawkins of St. Charles, MO.  Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jordan, Laine and Lauren Hawkins, one brother, Gary Hawkins of West Alton, MO and two sisters, Jane Page of Alton and Norma Hawkins of Tahlequah, OK.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Edward Hawkins and two sisters, Carolynn Hawkins and Bonnie Seehausen.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.  Reverend Randy Butler will officiate.  Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
