Doris L. Miller, 80, passed away at 7:37 am on Saturday March 17, 2018 at Calhoun Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on June 26, 1937 in Centralia, IL, the daughter of the late Raymond and Vera (Brink) Cooksey. She married Stephen Corbett Miller on September 23, 1961.
Doris was a member of St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Hardin. She graduated from nurses training at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville in 1958. She started her career at Jerseyville Hospital and finished at Calhoun County Health Department.
She is survived by her son, Steve (Dawn) Miller; four sisters-in-law, Roberta (Roger) Hurley, Cathy (Mark) Rice, Norma Cooksey, and Collene Cooksey; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Corbett Miller on May 10, 2009; daughter, Beth Miller; two brothers David Cooksey and Allen Cooksey; and her mother and father-in-law, Harrell and Frances Miller.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Gress, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Hardin with Fr. Don Roberts celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Norbert’s Cemetery in Hardin.
