Gary Baldwin

Gary James Baldwin, 66, went home to see his Heavenly Father, at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.

Born in St. Louis on October 18, 1951, he was the son of William and Dorothy (Hoffman) Baldwin.

A U.S. Air Force veteran., Gary had been a driver for Crown Foods in St. Louis. An avid Chicago Cubs fan, he was a member of the American Legion and attended faithfully to the 1st Baptist Church in Wood River, where he served in the roles of youth group sponsor and bus driver, enjoying all of the special trips he made with the church ladies.

On December 9, 1978 in Godfrey, he married Pamela Weed.  She survives.

Surviving also are a son, Paul Hamlin of East Alton; daughter, Aimiee Ramsey of East Alton; grandchildren, Hannah Roady, Dakota and Kayden Ramsey; great grandchildren, Addie Morgan and Aerabella Runion; brothers, Donald (Shirley) Baldwin, Richard (Rose) Baldwin all of Fairview Heights, Bill (Mary) Baldwin of Swansea; sister, Toni White of Collinsville; sister-in-law, Debbie Baldwin of Fairview Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents and twin brother, Larry Baldwin preceded in death.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Tom Plogue will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the family for expenses in care of Marks Mortuary.
