JERSEYVILLE -   June Rose Wilson, 90, died at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home.


She was born in Belleville, Illinois on June 14, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Jesse W. and Hannah J. (Epple) Leckner.


As a young lady, she worked at the International Shoe Factory in Jerseyville, and at the age of 21, she married William Wilson.   The two began their nearly 70 year marriage on July 24, 1948 at the First Presbyterian Church Parsonage in Jerseyville, and together they would lovingly raise their family that would begin with four children, expanding to grandchildren and great grandchildren.


She and Bill enjoyed spending time together, along with family and friends, and you could often find the two of them walking around town, enjoying their time together and God's gift of nature.   They also took advantage of any camping opportunity, and especially enjoyed their stays at Beaver Dam State Park.
June was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville, and participated in the Mary Circle, and served as a youth leader when her children were young.   She also gave many hours of her time through volunteerism at the Jersey Community Hospital, and was a member of the Eastern Star as well.


Surviving are her husband, William Wilson of Jerseyville; her four children and their spouses, Nancy and Larry Loy of Jerseyville, Peggy and George Osborn of Opelika, Alabama, William "Marty" and Sue Wilson of Highland, and Mark and Rhonda Wilson of Jerseyville; 13 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren, and one on the way.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Peterson.


Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.


Visitation will continue on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville.


Burial will take place in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.


Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville.
