Ruth B. (Kamp) Haug, 88, passed away 7:34 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. 

Born December 11, 1929 in Golden Eagle, she was the daughter of Tobias and Dora (Hagen) Kamp, Sr.

Ruth had been an active member of St. Bernard Catholic Church (now, Holy Angels Parish, singing in the choir, assisting with various groups of the church and volunteering for Operation Blessing in Wood River.  She was best known for her love of flowers and plants and her beautiful flower gardens.

On November 22, 1952 in the rectory of St. Mary's Church in Brussels, she married Clifford Haug.  He died November 4, 1967.  Widowed for over 50 years, Ruth raised a wonderful family of five children.

Surviving are her children, Steve (Pam) Haug of East Alton, Sandy (Jim) Speciale of Edwardsville, Sue Ann (Randy) Toppmeyer of Bethalto, Tim (Robin) Haug of Bourbonnais, Larry (Colleen) Haug of St. Louis; 18 grandchildren, Todd, Abby, Andrew, Daniel, Kelly, Adam, Jordan, Mitchell, Nathan, Korie, Molly, Sean, Riley and Kevin; 18 great grandchildren, Gabriel, Elliott, Maren, Blythe, Hazel, Philip, Lou, Gussie, Anne, Charlie, Emerson, Everly, Elowynn, Piper, Sloane, Owen, Emma and Harrison; two brothers, John "Bill" (Anita) Kamp of Godfrey, Greg (Agnes) Kamp of Golden Eagle; sisters-in-law, Beatrice Kamp of Hardin, Blanche Kamp of Jerseyville, Suzanne Kamp of Batchtown and Bernell Narup of St. Louis; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; three brothers, Tobias Kamp, Jr., David and James Kamp; four sisters, Marie Odneal, Winnie Druba, Leona Haselhorst, and Margie Keraghan; brother and sisters-in-law, Herbert Haug, Velma Pohlmann and Vera Bimslager.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Parish Church.  Father Donald Wolford will officiate.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to Metro-East Humane Society or for Masses at Holy Angels Parish.

Ruth's family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the staffs at University Care Center in Edwardsville and at DaVita Dialysis for their wonderful care of our mother.
