Bonita Crane

Bonita L. “Bonnie” Crane, 85, passed away at 9:30am on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at her residence. She was born on December 22, 1932, in East Alton, the daughter of the late Elmer and Dollie Winona (Witt) Brooks. She married William “Bill” Crane on June 1, 1952, in Bethalto, and he preceded her in death on January 28, 2015. Survivors include two daughters and sons in law: Debra and Bret Doiron of Prairie Du Rocher, Illinois, Julie and Jack Graham of Alton, two sons and daughters in law: Michael and Lisa Crane of Bethel, Missouri, Gary Crane of Alton, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters and a brother in law: Kim and Phillip Challandes of Bethalto, Elmira “Jeanie” Boger of Warsaw, Missouri, two brothers and a sister in law: Richard and Rosemary Brooks of Godfrey, Kenneth Brooks of Staunton, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

A homemaker, Bonnie enjoyed crocheting, making cakes, and sewing uniforms for reenactments.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother: Ronald Brooks.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at the funeral home. Pastor Ed Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
