Ramona “Mona” Sue (Torres) Lawson

Ramona “Mona” Sue (Torres) Lawson, 62, passed away July 10, 2018 at her home in Alton with her loving husband by her side. Born December 21, 1955 in Alton, she was the daughter of Jessie F. and Doris Mae (Bennett) Torres. She married Danny Lawson on August 18, 1972. Along with her husband, she is survived by two children, a daughter and son-in-law, Angel and Jeff Wright of Wood River, and a son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Stephanie Lawson of Godfrey. Five grandchildren, four step grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mary Valenzuela, Sue Holt and Lisa Lee. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Virginia Skaggs, Theresa Bunker, Esther Hardin and Helen Evans, and two brothers, Joseph Torres and Sylvester Torres. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
