Margaret A. Napoli, 95 of Wood River, Illinois died at home on Thursday July 12, 2018 at 6:18 am. She was born in St. Louis on April 22, 1923 to the late John and Caterine (Italia) Napoli. She worked at Olin for 42 years. She loved to gamble, play bingo, travel the world, bake amazing Italian cookies and food. She enjoyed teaching her “great great grandkids” the old Italian recipes and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Sarah Napoli, Mary Robertson, her brother, Matthew Napoli, the children that she helped raise Catherine and (Richard) Austin, Pamela Conrad, and John Napoli.
Margaret was survived by the children she her considered her grand-kids: Dustene( Peter) Shoemaker, Diana Austin, Aaron(Emilee)Napoli, Sarah( Jim Green) Napoli, Emily (Brad) Luether, Alex (Raquel) Napoli. The children she considered her great- great grandkids: Katelynn, Stormie Mae, Gideon, James, Olivia, Parker, Cruz, Waylon, Helena, and Nash. A sister in law Mary Buchanan and a niece Lisa Napoli, She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great nephews, friends& and so many more people that called her Aunt Margaret.
Visitation will from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with Father Donald Wolford as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton.
