Gerald W. “Jerry” Rose, 68, passed away at 3:04 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born on March 25, 1948, in Golden Eagle, the son of Raymond A. and Pauline L. (Zimmerman) Rose.Jerry married JoAnn Horman, on November 5, 1966, at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Hardin. She survives with the two having enjoyed 50 years of marriage together.He worked as the Public Works Director for the city of Hardin for over 46 years. He was a member of St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Hardin, served on the local volunteer fire department in Hardin, and was a past member of the Lyons Club in Hardin. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends.In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter and her husband, Christina and Bart Pohlman of Dow; two siblings and their spouses, James and Marylou Rose of Batchtown, Roger and Patti Rose of Brussels; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017, at Gress, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Hardin with Fr. Don Roberts officiating.Burial will follow in St. Norbert’s Cemetery in Hardin.Memorials may be made to St. Norbert’s Catholic Church or School.  Gress, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin is in charge of arrangements.
