RBGA Cuts Ribbon for Buena Vista

June 27, 2017 | 3,704 views

For 8 seasons, Janey and Greg Brummett have been the proprietors of Buena Vista located in Grafton and on Wednesday June 21st, the Riverbend Growth Association celebrated the unique shop’s relocation to 307 E. Main Street with a ribbon cutting.
The store is built around Greg Brummett’s artwork which includes jewelry made with silver, copper and semi-precious gemstones, lamps, tables and a form of art called Steampunk.  The art of Steampunk is defined as a style of science fiction - mixing modern technology with the Victorian period.  The result is a ‘have-to-see-to-believe’ collection of curious and clever lamps, tables and wall decorations. The shop also stocks locally made candles, pottery with handmade soaps and sugar scrubs made by the couple’s daughter. ‘Crafted in Grafton’ is a term used often by Janey who says about her shop “you’re going to get something unique, you’re going to get something special and something you can’t get anywhere else.” Janey thanked Jeff and Sandy Lorton for inviting them to move their shop to Aeries Winery while the Brummett’s searched for the perfect location. When it comes to promoting Grafton, Illinois, Janey Brummett stands out as one of the town’s greatest fans. Stop in Buena Vista Art, Jewelry and Gifts weekends from 11:00am to 5:00pm
