RBGA Cuts Ribbon for Max Sports

The Max Sports, located at 2300 Henry Street in Alton, celebrated its grand opening on Friday July 22 with a ribbon cutting conducted by the River Bend Growth Association.   Formerly, Metro Sports, under The Max Sports, the complex has already undergone significant renovation in the form of stripping and resealing its full-size gym, a total cleaning and new paint.Owners Tom and Vicky Maxwell bring a new vitality to a building that began its life in the early 1960’s as a YMCA.The Max Sports offers various forms of equipment for exercising and strength conditioning, complementary fitness classes, certified training, an Olympic size pool, swim lessons, aqua aerobics, basketball and volleyball league play and much more.
