About this event

MADISON COUNTY - Several area firework festivals have been canceled but there is a handful still happening. Edwardsville, Grafton, Shipman, and Jerseyville are still going on as planned.

The Edwardsville High School parking lots will only be accessible from Center Grove Road and will open for parking at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 3. The fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. and will be over before 9:30 p.m. It is not a long display, but it will contain all higher up fireworks set to music with nothing low to the ground. Watch for the lights around the school grounds to be turned off at approximately 9:10 p.m. This will signal the 5-minute warning that the show is about to begin. After the finale, the school parking lights will be turned back on, and people will be allowed to exit the parking area slowly and safely onto Center Grove Road and Governors Parkway in Edwardsville. Those in the left exit lanes will be asked to turn left and those in the right lanes will only be allowed to turn right as they are directed by the local police department.

Shipman Fireworks will be hosted July 3 at dusk at Shipman Lake. The set up will be much like at Drive-In Theatres right now. Vehicles will be spaced apart so parking will be limited, you will need to stay in your vehicle or within arm's length of your vehicle, our food stand will be available for carry-out food only and social distancing will be required along with the strong recommendation of wearing a mask in and around that area.

Grafton Fireworks will be hosted on July 2 on the Grafton Riverfront at dusk. Music In The Park will kickoff festivities at 7 p.m. July 2 in Grafton, followed later by the fireworks. The fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m. and last between 30-45 minutes.

Jerseyville Fireworks is set for Saturday, July 4, 2020, at the Jersey County Fairgrounds (American Legion). The show begins at dark. Those attending are asked to remain in their vehicles and practice proper social distancing.

Schnucks Freedom Fest supporting Folds of Honor, in partnership with Schnucks Markets, announces its Independence Day weekend lineup of events, including live concerts, movies, and the largest fireworks display in the St. Louis region. The Schnucks Freedom Fest supporting Folds of Honor will be July 2-5. The The POWERplex venue is located at 5555 St. Louis Mills Blvd., Hazelwood, MO 63042.

Many of the area fireworks displays have been cancelled.
