The annual "Arrival at Camp River Dubois" event at the Lewis & Clark State Historic Site in Hartford commemorates the time more than two centuries ago when the Lewis and Clark Expedition arrived at its winter camp. The Expedition arrived in what is now known as the Riverbend on December 13, 1803, and this weekend's event is one of the premier events on the historic site's calendar.
Activities will be held from 10am to 4pm both Saturday and Sunday, December 14 & 15 inside the Interpretive Center. Site spokesman Ben Pollard tells The Big Z there will be activities both inside and out.
