The Bethalto Village administration has made a couple of moves to improve the way the village looks. A handful of façade improvement grants were awarded at its most recent meeting, and trustees approved an ordinance limiting where yard signs can be placed.

While many yards have signs supporting political candidates right now, Mayor Alan Winslow tells The Big Z this new ordinance will cover any type of sign.

The changes would further state any signs must be at least 10 feet off of the road and not on a right-of-way. Façade grants were awarded to Farm Fresh, Paslay Real Estate, and Handi-Mart.
