Although the scare has apparently been addressed, East Alton Police assure they will remain on alert during school loading and unloading times around the village. Last week a student reported seeing what was at the time described as an unmarked bus in the village. It turns out the bus was marked, but did not appear so in a surveillance photo.
That's because, according to East Alton Police Major Christian Cranmer, the photo was pixilated.

He tells The Big Z that after interviewing multiple bus drivers, a specific driver recalls seeing a girl at the specific location where the suspicious bus was reported, and their stories coincide with one another. Police credit the student with being alert to their surroundings, and they advise parents to speak to their children about staying alert to “stranger danger.”
