Corn planting in Illinois is underway. Five percent of corn acres have now been planted. That's ahead of last year and the five-year average, according to State Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener.

Pasture conditions improved quite a bit, to 70% in good to excellent condition. Average statewide topsoil moisture to 6% short, 73% adequate, and 21% surplus.
