The driver of a motorcycle that died after he collided with a deer on Illinois 255 earlier this week has been identified. 51 year old Jeffrey S. Miller of Dow died of injuries he sustained in the crash from Monday afternoon on 255 near Fosterburg Road.
The crash took place just before 4pm on Monday when the deer crossed into Miller's lane and he was unable to avoid the collision. Miller struck the deer and was thrown from his motorcycle. Traffic was stopped for some time and other motorists assisted until first responders arrived. Miller was airlifted from the scene and later died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Funeral arrangements are pending at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
