Funeral services for a Riverbend soldier killed last week will be held Tuesday. The funeral procession for 22-year-old Specialist Patrick McDill will begin at 10am Tuesday from Gent Funeral Home in North Alton, and you are encouraged to line the route where it is safe to do so, and pay your respects as the procession passes by.
From Gent, the procession will head down State Street, turning left at the flour mill onto Landmarks Boulevard and onto Route 143. From there, it will proceed through Wood River and then exit onto 255, which will lead to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in South St. Louis. McDill, a 2015 Alton High School graduate, was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by an alleged impaired driver the morning of March 10. McDill was stationed at Fort Bragg. He was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division in August of 2016 and served a tour in Afghanistan from June 2017 to March 2018 in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel. He is survived by his mother Shannon Admire-McDill, and his father Patrick McDill and stepmother Louise.
