It's the last day to apply for the Illinois Sheriff's Association Scholarship. Every year about this time, the Association makes available $500 scholarships in each of the state's 102 counties. If you are a permanent Illinois resident and will be enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois during the 2018-19 school year, you can apply.
Madison County is unique this year in that two scholarships will be made available. Major Jeff Connor with the Sheriff's Department tells The Big Z there are a few limitations on who is eligible to apply.
