Nearly 90 parks across the state are getting a share of $28.9 million in grants to support open space land acquisition, including one locally. Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s office announced the grants that will fund projects in 29 different counties. In Bunker Hill, $199,400 has been set aside for improvements at Mae Meissner Whitaker Park.
DNR Spokesman Ed Cross says the grants come from the Open Space Land Acquisition and Redevelopment Program.
