If you travel US 67 between Jerseyville and Godfrey, an Illinois Department of Transportation engineer is asking you make other arrangements to get back and forth for the next few months. A new asphalt surface will be constructed on a stretch of roadway that measures about five miles in length, starting south of the city limits and running all the way through town.
IDOT Construction Engineer John Adcock tells The Big Z this project will go from Crystal Lake Road to almost a half-mile north of Fulkerson Road.

There will be intermittent lane restrictions throughout the project. Work will take place each day between 7am and 5:30pm. It is asked that motorists avoid this area as much as possible. The project starts Tuesday (August 18) and is expected to wrap up by the end of November.
