Charges have been filed against a Granite City man involving two separate cases of sexual assault against two different women over the last month. 56-year-old David F. Brown, who is a convicted sex offender, allegedly assaulted a woman last Friday and last month, sexually assaulted a woman while choking her and while she was tied to a bed.
Brown was charged on Monday in Madison County Court with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and one count of unlawful restraint. Authorities say he committed two sex acts against a 51-year-old victim on December 14 causing bruises and abrasions and allegedly choking her during the struggle where he also is accused of tying her to a bed. In the incident on January 10, he is accused of committing two forcible acts against a 46-year-old woman. Both women reported the incidents to police. Due to his previous conviction for aggravated criminal sexual assault in 1998, he is now eligible for life in prison if he is found guilty on the new charges. Brown is being held in the Madison County Jail on a bond of $500,000 in each case.
