Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has launched a new partnership with the City of Edwardsville as part of its Successful Communities Collaborative. Through the Collaborative, students and city officials will work together to make the City a better place to live, learn, work and play. The partnership will match projects with SIUE disciplines, engaging both faculty and students.
Last year the University did a similar project with Alton. Connie Frey Spurlock, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Sociology and SSCC faculty director tells The Big Z this year they are working with Edwardsville on three projects.

She says the students will participate in a series of courses over the fall and spring semesters that will address the three areas of interest.
