The City of Wood River has voted to levy a  tax on the sale of recreational cannabis. The rules set forth by the state says any municipality that wants to partake in the tax money generated by the sale of marijuana must have an ordinance on the books by the end of this (September) month stating they are willing to allow dispensaries in their towns, even if none locate there.

The vote to pass the ordinance was 4-1. All of the council members voted yes, but Mayor Cheryl Maguire voted no. She tells The Big Z why she voted the way she did.
