David Niles Green Sr. of Alton departed for his heavenly kingdom Sunday August 9, 2020, after a short illness.
Born the son of the late Harold and Lola Green August 3, 1934 in Wood River IL. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Jane (Sachs) Green, his sons Davey and Bobby, a daughter Martha Ann and a sister Chris Epps along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was also proceeded in death by his brothers Harold (Bink) and Max.
Dave proudly served as a custodian for the Orchard Farm school system for over 23 years before retiring in 1996. He was a devoted husband, proud father, dog lover and Cardinal fan.
Due to the current State of Illinois restrictions on social distancing the visitation is limited to 50 people or less at a time inside the funeral home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Fr. Ray Flores officiating. Family would like to request masks to be worn.
Memorials may be given to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.
