Anthony Vincent Stassi, 72, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis.
Born April 30, 1948 in Granite City, he was the son of Vito and Catherine (Guarino) Stassi.
Tony, a U.S. Army veteran, worked as a construction boilermaker for Local 363 before retiring on May 1, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Rick (Lisa) Stassi of Alton; daughters, Michelle (Dominik) Rulo of Alton, Lisa (Brian) Lynch of Edwardsville; eight grandchildren, Katie Hall, Jacob Hall, Isabella Stassi, Sophia Lynch, Isabella Rulo, Justin Moore, Alex Moore and Victoria Moore; and a brother, Sam (Bonnie) Stassi of Wood River.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 pm, Tuesday, October 27 at Holy Angels Parish Church in Wood River where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Wednesday, October 28. Father Donald Wolford will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with military honors by Alton VFW Post 1308.
Memorials may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
