Joyce G. Sands, 90, of Edwardsville, IL passed away at 8:07 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born in Madisonville, KY, on December 15, 1930, the daughter of Earl and Virginia Evelyn (Crawley) Huston. She married Sherman L. Sands in Louisville, KY, on December 23, 1950. He survives.
She is also survived by two sons, Douglas Sands and David (Katherine) Sands; two granddaughters, Chawna Michelle Johnson and Melissa (Shane) Cole; and four great grandchildren, Justina Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Katelyn Cole, and Makaylah Cole.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary Eleanor Tapp and Evelyn Earlene Kivett.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 9:30 am until time of service at 11:00 am at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
