Juanita Johnson

Juanita L. Johnson, age 78 of Collinsville, IL, born September 21, 1942 in Caseyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at her residence surrounded by family.

Juanita was a 1960 Collinsville High School graduate.  She had worked in the savings & loan division for 40 years before retiring having held several positions including Vice President, Branch Manager, and Assistant Secretary.  She served as Vice President and Treasurer for the Collinsville Business Professional Women’s Association, Vice President and Treasurer for the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Collinsville Progress.  She enjoyed fishing and in her younger years played softball with the Collinsville Rockettes under the coaching direction of Elmer Hazzard.  She was an avid Fighting Illini and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary (neeMcCawvey) Lutz; husband, Robert Johnson, Sr.; two sons:  Todd and Craig Naugle; three brothers:  Albert, Kenneth and Clifford “Red”; three sisters:  Arletta Mae, Alberta and Gloria “Jean”; and first husband, Larry Naugle.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen (Mark) Renaud of Collinsville, IL; five grandchildren:  Chad Naugle, Corey Mendez, Chris and Kyle Clewis and Nicholas Renaud; three great-granddaughters:  Caleigh, Teagan and Emilia; numerous nieces and nephews; and her canine companion, Bella.

Visitation will be 2 – 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. following the visitation at the funeral home with Rev. John Tinge officiating. 

Memorials may be made in Juanita’s honor to Unity Hospice or Siteman Cancer Center and will be accepted at the visitation.  Donations by check can also be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
