Jay E. Payne, 62, passed away 6:55 pm, Friday, September 14, 2018 at Integrity Healthcare of Alton.
Born in Wood River on December 27, 1955, he was the son of John Payne and Roberta (Fentress) Fillingim.
He had worked as a roofer in the area.
Surviving are three daughters, Amy Yates of South Roxana, Jodi (Jason) Hennessy of Marble Hill, MO, Cory (Mark) Lungwitz of Oak Ridge, MO; 7 grandchildren; a great grandchild; brother, Jamie Payne of Rosewood Heights; sister, Bonnie (L.D.) Carter in Arkansas.
His parents and a brother, John "Bo" Payne preceded in death.
Cremation rites were accorded.
Friends and family will gather for a Celebration of Life Memorial beginning at 3 pm on Saturday, October 6 at the South Roxana American Legion Hall.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River was in charge of arrangements.
