Savory Sausage Stuffing

• 1 lb. mild pork sausage
• 2 loaves bread
• 1 medium onion diced
• 2 tablespoons dried sage
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 4 cups water
Tear or cut bread into bite sized pieces and dry them out over a couple days or in the oven on 200. Put bread into large bowl. Brown sausage and break into crumbles. Remove the sausage from the pan and put it in the bowl witht he bread. Cook the onion in the sausage grease until tender. Add it to the bowl. Add sage, salt and pepper and toss to combine. Add 3 1/2 to 4 cups of water until all pieces are wet and let sit for 15 minutes so water can be absorbed. Pour into 13x9 baking pan and bake 30 minutes at 350.
