About this event

Join us on Saturday, November 4, and Sunday, November 5, 2017 for a celebration of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) from 11am to 4pm both days. This FREE high-spirited affair celebrates local art, music, dance, food and family.

Dia de los Muertos is an annual holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other Hispanic cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to remember those who have died. Traditions with Dia de los Muertos include altars honoring the deceased with sugar skulls, marigolds, and favorite foods of the departed in a festival setting.

The family event will showcase 12 beautifully decorated altars from various Hispanic countries, local artists and community members.

Expect a children’s area with free face painting and crafts.

A special Day of the Dead Art Exhibit will be present on the first floor. Also, attendees can enjoy our Community Business Partners fair.

On Saturday, the public is invited to participate in our Dia de los Muertos Processional outside and inside the Museum at 3:30pm. Bring photos or items that reminds you of a person that has passed away to honor them.

On both days, attendees can enjoy a variety of folkloric performances from several Latin and South American countries.

Cookies and refreshments will also be available both days.

New this year, attendees will be able to purchase authentic foods from various Hispanic countries.
