About this event

A celebration of Scottish culture, music, food, history, clans, crafts and Highland athletics. 

The event opens Friday evening, September 28, at dusk with a "calling of the Clans," followed by a music concert.  The event opens again on Saturday, September 29, and will feature:

  • Celtic rock and Scottish folk music.  Prydein (‘pry-den’) and Plaid to the Bone will provide the Celtic rock, while the more traditional Scottish folk music will come from Mitzi McDonald and the Laws Family Band, Triflemore, and several other local groups. 
  • Top pipers and drummers will compete in a contest before an international panel of judges, and sanctioned by the Midwest Pipe Band Association.
  • Scottish country dancing
  • Tug o’ war between the St. Louis County Police and Fire Departments, with donations to Backstoppers, which provides financial assistance and support to spouses and dependent children of police officers, firefighters and volunteer firefighters, and publicly funded paramedics who have lost their lives or suffered a catastrophic injury performing their duty.
  • Scottish clans and a “Parade of Tartans”
  • Sheepdog herding demonstrations
  • Children’s activities, including a kids’ foot race and “Nessie”
  • Scottish food, beverage and crafts vendors
