The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Annual Flag Award Ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Madison County Courthouse. This year’s event will honor residents of the southern Madison County townships who regularly fly the American flag at their homes. The annual ceremony alternates between the northern townships on odd numbered years and the southern townships on even numbered years. The event is free and open to the public.

The SAR Flag Award Ceremony is held each year in November, close to Veterans’ Day, to honor a number of Madison County residents who regularly fly the American Flag at their respective homes.
