Heartland Prairie Restoration Day

About this event

Join us for a workday at the 60-acre Heartland Prairie, locate d off of Rt. 140, across from Gordon Moore Park in Alton. Volunteers will be helping to remove invasive plants and shrubs from the prairie, woodla nd and savanna. Please be sure to wear protective clothing and sturdy shoe s. Volunteers are also encouraged to bring gloves, water, clippers or lo ppers if you have them. Some tools will be available on site. A light lunc h will be provided afterwards. Please call the TNI office at (618) 466-993 0 with any questions. Hope to see you there!

Restoration days are every first Saturday in the months of April through October.

*Reminder that we also have a group tour of the prairie each 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 5:30 pm. A hands-on class/work session is held from 5-5:30.
