The US Attorney’s Office has announced charges against four of House Speaker Mike Madigan’s allies, naming lobbyist Michael McClain, ex-ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore, ComEd lobbyist John Hooker, and former City Club President Jay Doherty in a 50-page indictment released late last night. State Representative Avery Bourne (R-Morrisonville) questions House Democrats loyalty to Speaker Madigan.

Longtime Madigan associate Michael McClain’s attorney told the Chicago Tribune the prosecution is an attempt to criminally implicate the speaker. A former ComEd official charged earlier this year pleaded guilty. Two former ComEd officials and another Madigan associate were charged in the case late Wednesday.
