The Christmas Wonderland 2020 edition will begin in about a week. After some discussion earlier this year, the decision was made to go ahead with the display lights in Alton’s Rock Spring Park, even though COVID-19 meant some things would have to change.
The changes are tied to the need for social distancing, also noting that many of the volunteers are of the age that seems to be more susceptible to catching the virus. Head Grandpa Dick Alford tells The Big Z about the changes.

There won’t be a walk-through night this year. Although it is possible to socially distance while on foot, Alford says people tend to congregate. Christmas Wonderland begins November 27 – the day after Thanksgiving – and will run through December 27.
