The number of positive cases of COVID-19 for Madison County continues to hold steady at over 200 per day.  In totals released on Saturday by the Madison County Health Department, there were 226 positive cases along with 2 additional deaths.  The number of people that have died of COVID-19 in the county is up to 251 since March.

The 7-day positivity rate is now just below 12% for the county. In order for a region to move back to Tier 2 mitigations, a region must experience less than 12 percent test positivity rate for three consecutive days AND greater than 20 percent available intensive care unit (ICU) and hospital bed availability AND declining COVID hospitalizations in 7 out of the last 10 days.

There is more free testing today for COVID-19 in Edwardsville, from 8am to 4pm on the parking lot of the Madison County Administration building at the corner of 2nd and Clay Streets.  You do not need to be symptomatic to be tested, and it is open to any adult or child over the age of 6 months.  All those tested must wear a mask and results will be given by phone in about 7 days.  You must have a valid phone number to be tested.
