A new book about the history of East Alton is now available. It's part of the Images of America series, which in the past has featured other local communities and attractions, and uses more than 200 photographs to tell the story of the village. The book is for sale at the new East Alton museum, at Walgreen's and on Amazon.
Co-author Judy Richie tells The Big Z the biggest challenge was narrowing down the photographs and leaving in the most interesting:

There is a book signing on the East Alton Book coming up on Saturday June 24 at the Second Reading Book Store in downtown Alton from 1-3pm, and also at the East Alton museum on Saturday July 15 10am-1pm. The museum is located at the Vital Services Building above the East Alton Police Department.
