The Village of Godfrey has dealt with door-to-door salesmen soliciting residents illegally in the past, but one group working the village now is legit. There have been a number of complaints of solicitors roaming neighborhoods in Godfrey without a permit over the last year or so, but the ones representing AT&T in recent days have the required permits, according to the Village Clerk.
But Pam Whistler tells The Big Z you still have the right to refuse to answer your door.

By ordinance, solicitors are only allowed to knock on your door between 10am and 6pm. She says some residents have expressed concerns about opening their doors after dark.
