The Labor Day holiday was a busy one in Grafton, with the mayor saying most businesses seemed to be full. There has been some criticism about a lack of mask wearing in town by some, but Mayor Rick Eberlin says with so many people visiting the town, there is only so much he can do.

Eberlin says it is not possible to put up a checkpoint at the entrance to town and require visitors to wear a mask, nor is that something he would be inclined to do. He tells The Big Z people who come to town do so to relax and enjoy themselves.

He says there has been a stepped-up effort to remind people to practice social distancing and to wear a mask, especially asking people to do so in businesses where you have to be inside to conduct business such as the bank or gas station.
