Lewis and Clark Community College will celebrate the dedication of a state historical marker honoring a man who played a pivotal role in the history of education in Alton. Scott Bibb fought the segregation of Alton Schools from 1897-1908. He won all five cases that made it to the Illinois Supreme Court.
Located at the corner of 5th Street and Central Avenue, College Vice President of Academic Affairs Linda Chapman, tells The Big Z the dedication ceremony will be held at the center from 2-4pm today.
